Calorie restriction appeals to people who want healthier — and perhaps longer — lives

I’m still thinking about the Calorie Restriction Diet and to be honest, I’m still not sold:

Although many believe calorie restriction slows down the aging process, it has never been proved in humans, said Dr. Michael Forster, a professor of pharmacology and neuroscience at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

“What has been shown in human studies is that calorie restriction dramatically and very convincingly improves markers of health,” he said. “It lowers all kinds of risks — blood pressure, cholesterol, you name it. But there’s no evidence that the mortality rate is reduced.”
