There was an exciting article to be found within Life Extension Magazine’s January edition…
The article, titled Nanotechnology and Radically Extended Life span, describes Medical Nanotechnology as:
Medical nanorobotics holds the greatest promise for curing disease and extending health span. With diligent effort, the first fruits of medical nanorobotics could begin to appear in clinical treatment as early as the 2020s
What You Need to Know: Life Extension and Medical Nanorobotics
- Nanotechnology is the engineering of molecularly precise structures and, ultimately, molecular machines.
- Nanomedicine is the application of nanotechnology to medicine. The ultimate tool of nanomedicine is the medical nanorobot—a robot the size of a bacterium, composed of molecule-size parts.
- Medical nanorobotics holds the greatest promise for curing disease and extending health span.
Nanotechnology is surely one of the more exciting promises for Life Extension and fits into intelligence/technology driving a portion of the SMI²LE formula.
There may be some willing to argue with me, but I also feel that the thought process behind nanotechnology has allowed for technology leading scientific theory behind medical practices leading to a more holistic approach to treatment. The research has often led to treating illness from the core…or the inside first before the outside. Treating issues at the cell and/or genetic level should soon lead us to far greater health and longevity. If this can be properly introduced into a treatment system alongside the discoveries being made with pharmaceutical breakthroughs, we may indeed have ourselves a revolution.
Nanotechnology will often be an interest of mine and will likely be updated on the site more often than not…
